"Buy less, buy better."
An old idea, still a good one. We are glad to play our small part in it.
Harbor & Oak started in 2018 as a conversation between two friends who had grown tired of fast homeware — cheap, disposable, forgettable. We wanted the opposite. Fewer things, chosen carefully, made by people who still care how they turn out.
We carry a small, curated set of goods across kitchen, home office, decor, bath and lifestyle. Each one has to earn its place: it has to be made well, priced fairly, and useful on a Tuesday morning as much as a Saturday evening.
Our makers are mostly small studios — potters in Portugal, leather workers in Italy, candlemakers down the road from us. We visit when we can. We pay on time. When something does not meet our standard, we say so and move on.
We do not chase the lowest price. We chase the right one — fair to the maker, fair to you, and enough margin for us to stay in business without cutting corners. If something is cheaper from someone else, it is probably made differently.
You pay for materials, time, and attention. We think you notice the difference, even without being told.
Everything ships from our small warehouse in Maine. Orders leave within two business days — often same day if you catch us before noon. We use recycled paper packing, no plastic filler. Your box arrives looking like it was packed by a human, because it was.
We ship across the United States and to most countries. International shipping is calculated at checkout — we charge exactly what it costs us, nothing more.
